Great start in Acapulco for Rafa

Rafael Nadal advanced to the second round in Acapulco beating Mischa Zverev 6/4 6/3. Rafa said it was a ‘good match against a tough opponent. After the Australian Open I was a little bit tired physically but I trained well before this tournament and I arrived early in Mexico to suit to the condition’, Nadal said in press conference.

Nadal who also assured his knee, that was bandaged for the whole match ‘is doing well, that’s the reason why this month I decided to play on hard-courts contrary of previous years.’

His 28 winners were 15 more than his opponent’s and the result extended his FedEx ATP Head2Head ledger with the German to 2-0 after an earlier win in Brisbane this year. Rafa’s next opponent will be the Italian, Paolo Lorenzi.
